Position Overview

We are seeking current graduate and PhD researchers in the social sciences who are conducting independent research and are passionate about mentorship. As a Social Sciences Research Mentor, you will provide paid, one-on-one research guidance and an experiential opportunity through enabling motivated high school students to aid in your research.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction through a weekly one on one meeting on your specific research topic, and research design, methodology, literature review, and academic writing.

• Facilitate student's engagement with your research through structuring deliverables.

Qualifications

• Current graduate or PhD student conducting research in a social science field (i.e. political science, history, English, sociology, anthropology, etc.). History, American studies, and anthropology research preferred, but not required. Student at a competitive university preferred, but not required.

• Strong research background, with experience in qualitative and/or quantitative methods.

• Passion for mentoring and supporting students in academic exploration.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback.

• Prior experience with research mentorship, tutoring, or teaching is preferred, but not required.

Details

Each Mentor will be paired with specifically one student. This position is a contract job for a set number of months. This position is remote and allows you to set your own available hours.
